Fig. 1- Rexlace can be molded into any shape using heat, and then shocking it with cold. To make curls, this may require the help of an adult in order to prevent burns. Begin by bringing water to a boil. In a separate bowl, collect some ice water and set this aside.
Fig. 2- Place one end of Rexlace towards the tip of a wooden dowel. Wind the Rexlace around the dowel so that it overlaps and secures the Rexlace in place.
Fig. 3- Wind the Rexlace around the wooden dowel until you reach the desired curl length. Clip away the excess fasten the end of the Rexlace to the dowel using a piece of cellophane tape.
Fig. 4- With the help of an adult, put the Rexlace curl into boiling water for about 20 seconds.
Fig. 5- Carefully remove the dowel from the boiling water and immediately stick it into the ice water for at least 20 seconds. This will freeze your curl in place.
Fig. 6- The curl can be delicate, so carefully remove the tape, and slide the curl off the end of the dowel. Trim away any excess Rexlace. You can make as many curls as you like. You can experiment with different dowel thickness’ to get varying curls.
